Marine Discovery Center Wine and Sunset Pontoon Boat Tour near the North Causeway in New Smyrna Beach. I highly recommend this boat tour. We saw tons of dolphins, 5 manatees swimming together, and the bird rookery was amazing.

2/15 North Fork of Black Creek at Jennings State Forest, FL - exploratory trip with Marty. We paddled against the current from Indian Ford to Knights Landing to confluence of Yellow Water Creek. Had three difficult portages and 'white water'

4/24 Little Lake Santa Fe boat ramp through Santa Fe Canal to Lake Alto, and back - one gator lifted the end of my kayak on the Santa Fe end of the canal! Nice day for a workout in our bikinis! Heard a fun owl, gator and Sally chorus!
4/29 Silver River - the big gators were off mating..no monkeys for Dina or Laura. We did see 12 small gators,
hundreds of immature ibis and lots of lil duck chicks.
5/7 Salt Springs to Lake George - saw 6 gators, egrets, herons and two gators eating a deer! It was wonderful to swim in the springs before and after paddling my new Necky Manitou Sport. The round trip took 4 hours. A good windy day workout.

I have paddled Juniper since 1992...always paddled Juniper in the cool months and avoided it in the warm months.
Juniper yesterday was the prettiest I have ever seen it. Very wild and lush....and technical, 40+ new trees down! ;0)
I was blown away by the jungle like atmosphere of the summer foliage, and will be back again soon!

1/19 Santa Fe River, Rum Island to 47 Bridge/Hollingsworth w Evan, Nancy, Deb, Mary Ann. Our Canadian Guests saw their first alligator! Santa Fe is a famous spring fed river with clear turquoise waters and first magnitude springs.
Once home we took our Pontoon Boat out on Lake Santa Fe...
1/20 Silver River My favorite river in Florida!!! Wild rhesus monkeys remain after Tarzan Movies.
Difficult River, the first 4 hours you paddle against the current to the headspring, then you turn around and paddle with the current back to your car. Silver River is a first magnitude spring, internationally known. We saw 27 alligators on the way up to the springs and saw 46 alligators on the way back to the car. Lots of Mom Gators & LOTS OF BABY ALLIGATORS! ;0) We also saw 2 monkeys, 1yellow crown night heron, 2 black crown night herons, 2 green herons, tri colored herons, plus great limpkin photos, tons of great blue herons, little blue herons, ibis, cormorants, anhingas, buzzards, kingfishers, woodpeckers, ducks, common moorhens, needlenose and egrets, in additon to yellow bellied slider tutles, alligator gar, bass and jumping mullet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBxGm00-3Ss

1/22 Ichetucknee Springs - 2 otters, a stork, limpkin, ibis, herons, egrets, mullet, tutles...paddled up & back from bridge.
1/23 Ocklawaha River, Gores to Eureka Mysterious black water...18 gators, 2 snakes, 3 hawks & SUPER HUGE snapping turtle plus six sandhill cranes pecking in someones yard. A windy, overcast, sunny day...less wildlife than usual.
1/24 Alexander Springs….8 gators, 2 eagles, cool immature lil blue heron, limpkins, blue herons, egrets, ibis. After paddling we swam at Alexander Springs, then visited the Juniper Take Out, Silver Glen Springs and Salt Springs...didnt see manatees! ;0)
1/26 Juniper Springs/4.5 hour paddle…Beautiful crystal clear river with sandy bottoms...spring fed tropical run with many narrow twisty turns. A technical paddling day. Great weather, great day. 3 gators, one racoon, one deer. They raised the cost from $4.24 per person to $5.50 per person PLUS $5 per boat...dog gone it!!!
1/27, Wednesday - Crystal River and Chassahowitzka River - Pelicans and 200+ Manatees at Crystal River, great sunny cool day...then had a flat tire...then 3 manatees on Chassahowitzka River. A grand finale for the New Brunswick Canadians!

May 9 - Dry Creek/Chipola River Mystery Springs/Hwy 167 to Peacock Bridge w WFCKC: Doug Waggle, Frances, etc. Dry Creek is a nice, remote winding creek. Chipola was silty and muddy instead of green and clear. Both rivers in Flood Stage.
May 10 - Upper Econfina Creek/Scotts Bridge to Walsingham Bridge w WFCKC; Doug Waggle, Fast Eddie, Laura & Scott, Delbert. Interesting: limbo, portage, right, left, limbo, portage, left, right, repeat all day. Fast water, shoals, rapids & down trees made for an exciting paddle in the limestone canyons. Our water guages were: Scotts Bridge = 2.8. Walsingham = 3.5. This is an advanced paddle! Note to self: do not go w thunderstorms are predicted, would be dangerous place if raining due to rapid rising water in limestone canyons. We saw and heard waterfalls all day. Grand weather, grand river, grand company, grand day!
May 11 - Middle and Lower Econfina Creek Hwy 20/388 w Jay & Christine! The river has changed drastically since Friday. The springs are now visible and the water is running clear in the spring runs. Cliffs were covered in white oak leaf hydrangeas, maidenhair fern, etc. Lots of paddlers and motor boats on the river today.
